#03 : Limitations -The power is stored from being exposed so as she uses her powers, it is used up.If she’s fighting at night and using some of her more strenuous powers, it will be diminished and then she is powerless.If she’s fighting outside during the day, this isn’t such a problem and only her nuclear reaction power will use up everything.

Kassa Edith Vossen was born on a dark night on October 28, 1934, in Numberg Germany.The birth was in her family home with her mother, grandmother and her mother's best friend, Edie Lehnsherr.Kassa was a beautiful baby, and by the time she was a toddler had a head of blonde curls just like her mother but it was only a year later when their family would be dragged into the Ghetto where they did their best to make sure to start teaching Kassa.A few years later, her family was reunited with the Lehnsherr family once they were captured and put in the Ghettos as well.This is when Kassa met her life long friend would would come in and out of her life, Erik Lehnsherr. It didn't take long before both family would be taken out of the Ghetto. Although she was quite young, Kassa's mother and father would be killed in Auschwitz where she manifested her power and was taken to be experimented on.It wasn't long before Kassa was taken to Zola where he caused harm to her and in these experiments, Johann Schmidt found that he would have a weapon but he also needed to give her a new identity finding the young girl quite smart.He then gave her the name Karina Elaine Schmidt and faked papers to make her of Judeo Christian German and Russian, making it clear that her mother had died in childbirth.It didn't take long before Zola began to do memory experiments on her as well, planting memories that would erase the Jewish childhood and heritage that she had and replacing it with a life with Red Skull and a loyalty to Hydra.Once she was old enough, she was taken to the Red Room where she was trained with some of the best WIdows, also learning more about her powers and how they manifest by being exposed to the sun.The longer she's exposed, the more powerful she became. It was hard to know just where her limits were but she continued to let experiments be done for years.During the war though, Karina was then tested against Captain America and his Howling Commados.There were times that it was hard for Cap and the Howling Commandos because once they figured out who was attacking them, they figured out that she was only a young girl.She was 12 when she started fighting them and was 14 at the time that she was finally pulled from the field because her adopted father, Red Skull found that she was writing about Bucky Barnes and the crush she had on him.
Years later, Karina will find that a large portion of her training will be given to her by the same person she had a childhood crush on.She, like Natalia was one of the young girls that Winter Soldier was used to train because he could hold up better than others when she used her powers against him. Not only did it train her but it also helped them to see how their asset would work against enhanced humans.It is at this time that she will get her name that she's known by as the Asset: The Solar Siren.It was next that she was partnered with the Winter Widow, child of Natalia and James.Although they were very different in their fighting styles and personalities, the two young women seemed to get along well and work together. They would spend years on missions together once Ana was old enough to go out into the field. Ana also was trained by the WInter Soldier, making her once more a perfect partner for Karina. It wasn't until Ana defected that Karina ran into an old associate of hers named, Magneto.Magneto had thought that she'd been killed like so many others even though her powers had manifested in the camps. It was old files that were found of Red Skulls where he found the real history of Kassa Vossen.WIth that, Magneto used other mutants and the records of her weakness to figure out how to capture her and then with a bit of luck and a mutant who could do it, Erik gave Karina back her memories of her being a Jewish child and being taken by Johann.With this knowledge, it was the early 90's when Kassa defected from Hydra and joined the Brotherhood of Mutants.She spent years fighting with Magneto and his brotherhood to help children who were being experimented on by hydra, the Red Room and other organizations.They only freed children who were mutant although this didn't sit well with her, Erik was a believer that humans were less than mutants and would always do harm to their kind.At this time, Kassa was once again captured by Hydra and brought back into the fold going back to the name Karina.Karina will work with Hydra/SHIELD until she is captured by Captain America and Bucky Barnes where Ana explains to them who she is and with that knowledge, they find a way to erase the control for the last time.WIth this, Karina will go back to being Kassa and go underground where she will continue to work with Ana, Bucky and Natalia but she will return to the Brotherhood of Mutants.This time though, she will make sure that she’s not captured by Hydra and she will also help Winter Soldier and the new Captain America to take down any Hydra that might start to show up again.It will be her goal till her last breath to make sure to cut off each head that might decide to pop up or anyone that is using the weapons that were created by her while she was with Hydra.
